Mali declares a state of Emergency
BAMAKO, Jan 11 (Reuters) - Mali's interim President Dioncounda Traore declared a state of emergency on Friday as government forces battled to hold back al Qaeda-linked Islamist fighters threatening to push south from their northern strongholds, an official at the presidency said.
"President Traore has just decreed a state of emergency. The information will be transmitted on national television this evening," the official told Reuters, asking not to be named.
Ambulances arrived in Mali
We are glad to hear that our two landrover 109 ambulances desert prepared have arrived safely in Bamako Mali along with the 4 emergency hospital tents.
These will provide critical emergency care in the remote areas and half the response times for the injured.
Container Away .....
We have shipped a 40ft Container off to Bamako in Mali with 2 landrover Ambulances and 4 emergency Army hospital tents which are used as field clinics in the remote area of Mali that we operate in.
Gunfire in Mali
We lost contact with our friend Sunny Akoupha and his family whilst there was a military coup however we eventually managed to get communications through and were relieved to find that his family were safe.
